I've been flipping through magazines, listening to a few podcasts and making a list of what I want to watch/do/read. Here's what I'm enjoying lately (in all things pop culture) and what I'm looking forward to in this regular roundup called Culture List.
For previous Culture List posts - read here, here and here. What about you? Anything you've enjoyed recently (movies, TV, music, books, etc?) Drop me a line in the comments below or send me a tweet @Indianapolisamy.
It's the official kick off to awards season with the Emmys. I'm a devoted awards show fan (I know, it's a bit crazy). The coverage starts tonight (Sunday, September 22) at 5p.m. on E!
Linda Rondstadt recently announced she has Parkinson's Disease and this interview touches on her illness (with great sensitivity by Terry Gross), but mainly focuses on her background and incredible career. I'm a fan of her music and I definitely need to add a few of her albums to my collection. Do you have a favorite album? I enjoy her music (can't get enough of the duets with Aaron Neville) and especially like her covers of "The Waiting" and "Feels Like Home."
3. Enough Said
I can't wait to see this comedy by Nicole Holofcener, starring James Gandolfini and Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. p.s. I think Walking and Talking (1996) is one of the great modern movies about friendship and dating (a nice mix of humor and angst).
"Forever" was out in 2012 and I'm enjoying it as my end of summer song (lots of catchy hooks). Here's Haim's official site and info on their new album 'Days Are Gone.'
(Life in Color, opens October 13 and continues through January 12, 2014). 100 works by Matisse. I've been looking forward to this for months.
