A few weeks back (maybe a month or so), I found out (from Twitter, of course- where you can find out all sorts of cool things) about a monthly program called Foodie Penpals- which you can check out on The Lean Green Bean's blog. Sounds interesting? Fun? Yep.
I checked out all the details and signed up for October. A few days after I signed up- I found out via email who I'd be sending a foodie package to and who I'd be receiving a foodie package from. There are lots of details and this program is super organized. Lindsay- of The Lean Green Bean, does a fantastic job with this program and it's a fun way to meet other bloggers and foodies.
Here's what I received.... there was lots of colored tissue paper and crinkly stuffing inside the box-- which made it so fun to open up.
Here's what was inside (yeah- there's a picture above, but in case you want the details)
a note from Kate
recipe for Balsalmic Chocolate Truffles (written on a recipe card)
recipe for Curried Lentil and Quinoa Salad (written on a recipe card)
Trader Joe's Balsamic vinegar
Trader Joe's red split lentils
Trader Joe's organic red quinoa
4 Valrhona dark bitter chocolate bars
I can't wait to try out these recipes. I totally dug being part of the October Foodie Penpals program. Thanks to Kate for sending such fun foodie stuff. If you want to find out more and participate-- check out The Lean Green Bean blog and sign up.
