This year I attended my first Indy’s Irish Fest. My aunt Jean and uncle Bruce go to Indy’s Irish Fest every year (they love all things Irish—as most everyone in my family) and invited a bunch of family to hang out at the fest. Saturday was a perfect evening to be downtown. I was happily surprised to see how much of a family event Irish Fest is...There were lots of kids playing, dancing around and getting their faces painted (including my aunt & uncle’s grandkids who had a blast). I also really enjoyed listening to the music—some Irish rock and folk happening… good stuff.
There was so much to see—people (many people wearing kilts) and animals (lots of people who brought their Irish dogs… like the gorgeous Irish Wolfhound below—which took me back to childhood…We had an Irish Wolfhound when I was a kid).
I also liked seeing a variety of Irish souvenirs at wallet-friendly prices (I spotted a few souvenirs under $10). And last but not least—I enjoyed the tasty bites of fried fish (pulled right out of the fryer—from Claddagh restaurant), dipped in malt vinegar. (And, yes... I did make a couple trips to the beer/wine tent:)
The whole evening left me longing for a trip to Ireland.
And, a few pictures. – A.
p.s. How was your weekend?
