It's Indiana strawberry season. A couple of days ago I stopped at Spencer Farm in Noblesville. Indiana strawberry season doesn't last that long-- so you've got another 2 weeks or so to get some strawberries.
You can pick strawberries at Spencer's and I noticed there were several people picking strawberries. If you do the picking, they're about 1/2 the price. But- I rolled in shortly before closing, so I didn't have any time to pick them (excuses, excuses!).
I went inside the store and purchased 2 quarts of strawberries (one of the "early glow" variety which were in the fridge ($4.25 qt.), which are sweeter and cost a bit more and I purchased one of the regular variety (don't know the name) on one of the tables inside the store ($3.95 qt.).
I haven't made a single dessert with these strawberries because I've been too busy eating them for breakfast and other snacks. They're crazy good.
I plan to make another trip to Spencer's to pick up some more...For more info on Spencer Farm, directions, hours- click on the link above.
