This is New Orleans BBQ Shrimp. The first time I tasted New Orleans BBQ Shrimp was at Mr. B's Bistro in New Orleans. I went to Mr. B's many years ago and the dish is forever in my head along with my top food/restaurant memories. The dish was phenomenal...buttery, peppery and the fresh gulf shrimp... Insane! This is a dish to share with family... You get dirty, peeling and eating the shrimp with your hands and then mopping up the sauce with the bread until the bowl is clean. You definitely can't be dainty with this dish!
This is not shrimp in BBQ sauce-- but a sauce with Worcestershire, butter, spices, lemon juice, garlic, pepper.
A few days ago my Dad wanted to make New Orleans BBQ Shrimp and wanted to use Mr. B's recipe. He made a couple of changes (He only used half of the butter that the recipe calls for and also reduced the amount of Worcestershire). Note: these shrimp do not have peels because the seafood market did not have any peel on shrimp in stock. *Even reducing the butter-- this sauce is still rich** and just wonderful.
This dish only takes a few minutes to cook so make sure you have everything ready...
This is a divine one pot dish to share with family. I recommend serving this dish with plenty of slices of a warm French baguette (for mopping up the sauce) and a bottle of white wine. & of course we reminisced about our favorite places in New Orleans.... I need to plan a trip there soon:)

The BBQ Shrimp look amazing :)
